Our Italian calfskin is a very soft leather with a polished finishing. Full-grain calfskin is recognized for its buttery-smooth texture and durability. However, this type of leather is naturally prone to occasional scratching if not handled with care. First of all, to preserve its natural finish, always store the bag in its dust bag, away from direct sunlight and in a dry and ventilated space. Avoid storing it on rough surfaces as the leather could be subject to scratches. We recommend occasionally treating your bag with leather conditioner to keep its natural texture intact. For lighter colors, avoid contact or friction with dark denim or any dark fabrics with loose dye – lighter colors of this leather-type could be prone to transfer or stains.

Our Italian pebble leather is a specially treated leather through a process called milling. It’s soft and rich with a grained surface, a natural characteristic of this leather-type. Regardless of the fact that pebble-grain leather is strong, it needs to be handled with proper care for it to remain intact. First of all, to preserve its natural finish, always store the bag in its dust bag, away from direct sunlight and in a dry and ventilated space. We recommend occasionally treating your bag with a leather conditioner to keep the leather hydrated. For lighter colors, avoid contact or friction with dark denim or any dark fabrics with loose dye – lighter colors of this leather-type could be prone to transfer or stains.

Our Italian Suede Leather, used for the interior lining of our bags, has a soft and velvety texture. Suede is a very delicate type of leather and must be handled with proper care to preserve its natural finish. For longevity of suede, we recommend pre-treating the leather with a suede protectant. Always avoid exposure or contact with water and other liquids as it can damage the material and its natural texture. To smooth any marks or indentations on the surface of the leather, we recommend occasional treating it with a suede brush.

Mama Benz uses gold-plated hardware on your bag. The golden hardware on your bag will not lose clarity or color if handled with proper care. We recommend avoiding any contact with rough surfaces as it could scratch the metal and avoid any chemical liquids, cremes and lotions, that may fade color of hardware.

The debossed Mama Benz monogram is placed on the bottom-left corner of every bag and the golden Mama Benz logo is placed on the interior suede lining of the bag and on the leather of the matching detachable zip pouch via heat transferred foil print. The golden logo should not lose clarity and color if handled with proper care. We recommend avoiding any contact with other surfaces and avoid any chemical liquids, water, cremes and lotions, that may fade the golden logo.
